Time to roll up the sleeves

Well – fall has started to show signs of an appearance – days are starting to get shorter, temperatures are dropping and well, school is back in session.

The fall always brings a flurry of activity, especially for those who have family – hockey and figure skating has started – dance is well under way and well then there are the high school sports – basketball, volleyball and rugby…

Parents, do make sure you take time out for yourselves – two great events are happening in October – Unmasking New Businesses on October 6. Ocean Pearl Promotions, Siren’s Staging and Designs and Harlow’s Eatery are partnering up with other new businesses to showcase their dreams and aspirations for their future in our town of Prince Rupert. $5.00 to get in, come mingle, meet new entrepreneurs, sample some treats and beverages! It will be a great night at the Tom Rooney Playhouse – doors open @ 7 PM!!!

What is October without Oktoberfest? October 27 – “A little taste of Bavaria” Oktoberfest 2012!!!! 7PM at the Nisga’a Hall in Prince Rupert. Tickets are $20. This will get you your own Oktoberfest 2012 stein, bratwursts, kraut, mustards and desserts – warm pretzels will be for sale during the night – have to have something to nibble on while sipping great German Brew!!!!  A local Oompah Band will be starting the evening – complete with songs to sing a long with and closing the night will be The Grifters!!!!! Prizes will be awarded for the Best German Outfit and well, in keeping with Halloween Tradition – Best over all Costume will receive a prize as well!!!! Tickets are available at Teddy’s Music and Homeworks in Prince Rupert.  It will be a great night to get dressed up and come out and dance!!!!
